Thank goodness we live so close to the beach and an off road beach at that, because we were baking at home today. We finally had enough of the oppressive heat and humidity and fled to the sand and surf. We quickly prepared dinner at home and put everything hastily into tupperware and our cooler. Off we went. After a short 20 minute drive and 5 minutes to air down we were on the beach. What a difference. It was 10 degrees cooler with a nice southwest wind. We ate dinner on the beach, we all went for a swim and I even got to get in a little body surfing.
On the way home we stopped at our local ice stand and scored some frozen ices. We returned home late at night, tired, wet and sandy, but it was a great evening of family fun and adventure.
